A God of Retribution

Approximately 40 in high, Stoneware, glazed ceramic.

Placement of a sculpture works well

in the garden by a garden path, or near a seating area of the patio, deck or gazebo. For some, perhaps it is better to be easily seen from the breakfast table window. Never-the-less, position it where you may pass by it, or contemplate it from a short distance, even while seated enjoying your coffee or favorite drink. This way it will be seen often, offering it’s presence to you and to others.

Costumed ceremonial dancers pay homage

to the “god” of retribution who bursts through the top of the sculpture.

Each figure raises its arms in supplicating worship to the frightening deity that bursts through into their reality, scattering boulders and rocks helter-skelter.

Like bronze or copper metal, over time, this copper -laden ceramic glaze oxidizes as it is kissed by the extremes of summer and winter, taking on a new patina.

 Hmmm. . .

now that I think about it, kind of like how I’ve aged over the years.

The female venus figure to the left is in contrast to her less human companions above, considering their tails and all.

She is definitely a full-figured Venus.

Seems appropriate to be dancing in the cool shadows of the woods.
